(This poem and the next few "Reaching Back" are some of my favorite poems in progress - still very unrefined - that I found while flipping through a writing book I haven't looked at in awhile...)
Fall leaves are
full
with yellow light
overlapping
moth's wings
Deeper color between
two brilliant crescent moons
Angled bright banana hue
Looking up
the canopy is a cloth:
tangled, scaly parasol
giving light,
bright
breezy
shade
to readers curled up
among the clover
